On this section of our site you will find information about the history of our project, the vision that we have and the innovative design that we have incorporated into the project.

1997 — 2008

During this time, the Oriental City food court stood on the Bang Bang Oriental Food Hall site. A popular, thriving food destination for the people of North West London, it offered a variety of cuisines from across Asia – including Malaysian, Thai, Chinese, Korean and Japanese.

When Oriental City closed, the site was given planning consent for a mixed-use retail and residential-led redevelopment. And the provision of new and improved facilities for the area’s oriental community was an integral part of the original redevelopment package.

Now nearing completion, the redevelopment has the Bang Bang Oriental Food Hall at the heart of the new plans, with the aim of creating a landmark destination for Edgware Road and the rest of London.

Our concept for Bang Bang Oriental Food Hall is to build on the site’s famed history as a hub for the Oriental community and drive it forward for a spirited new generation. What’s more, Bang Bang Oriental Food Hall will in turn contribute to hundreds of the jobs that this development will create locally.

Creating a unique landmark for the area, the design of the Bang Bang Oriental Food Hall will be integrated with the Morrisons supermarket through a beautiful glazed diagrid façade.
